You will probably want heavier gauge strings for drop tuning or metal music. I know Ernie Ball makes some strings especially for drop tunings. i couldnt find the drop tuning one's on line, but i put in a link for ones that have a heavy gauge lower strings, and thinner higher strings. that sounds about like what you want

I do suggest that if you are going to play your guitar mostly in drop c, you take it to a guitar tech to set it up for that tuning. if u take a guitar regulary set for standard, and just down tune it, you could get lots n lots of buzzing.
Reply:thanks bro.. I am a gtr tech so knew about the set up but every dude I have talked too agrees with you, infact, someone told me too use 11 - 56 lol, no way. I will attempt 10 - 52, but will prob. go 10 - 47. Report It
